I have just re-erected my Field Day microwave antenna/transverters on a rotatable pipe such that they are about 6-7M above ground, and most importantly clear the peak of the shed.. They won't be up permanently but it will hopefully give me a chance to see if I can hear/work anything other than the beacons on 2.4/3.4/5.7 and 10GHz.
PS Ignore the tribander traps/elements and wire dipole elements in the background plus the radial for the 10M whip in the foreground...
I plan to be able to re-do these arrangements if I can't get out for Field Days etc and have to work from home.
I am currently unsure as to the health of 1296 gear but will also keep an ear on 144.1 or 144.15 and 146.500 FM for liasion purposes. Maybe a different freq is standard in which case, please advise. Maybe just advise anyway
The plan is to be up in the shack by about 7.30PM tonight and will turn on the liaison radios then.
PPS - just confirmed the receive side of 1296 is working but unsure of tx side ( I suspect low RF output power).
