The Orionids are due this weekend, might be a good time to try some MSK144 on 6M or 2M.

WSJT-X settings :
MSK144    50.230:  T/R 15S,  Ftol 200
MSK144  144.230:  T/R 15S,  Ftol 200

Southern VK stations transmit on first/even period, northern on second/odd period. Later activity usually sees a period change for east/west working.

Morning 6M and 2M activity typically starts in Eastern Australia around 2000 UTC (7AM EADST, 6AM EAST), often lasting until around 2100-2130 UTC.

Good results achievable with 50W->100W of RF out plus a mid-sized yagi.  (eg 4- -> 6 elements on 6M, 10 elements on 2M.)  Bigger is better of course !!

Log into VKSpotter.com and select 6M or 2M chat to see what activity is occurring real-time, and get help as needed.

I reckon they are being a tad optimistic about 'seeing' the meteor showers given the widespread bad weather and cloud cover Smile
I noticed some longer burns, 15 secs+, a number of times on 6M MSK144 this morning.  Not significantly different to (say) last weekend. Maybe better ???
6M activity started at 5.30AM EAST / 6.30AM EDST / 1930 UTC today.

Not a lot of stations around, let's hope for more tomorrow.

Don't forget to make your presence felt by going into VKLogger.com and picking 6M (or 2M+) chat.
