Hi All

The latest developments in technology appear to have totally removed the need for VHF/UHF repeaters.

You can now get 300w vhf/uhf digital handhelds with 180km range that have a 50AH battery that you can hold in your hand for just AU$48.89 delivered from Sydney on eBay.

Absolutely amazing!

Not sure though if the price includes PPE you may need to wear when you are using it.

You can get in line with me for one from the site below but I suspect the waiting list is very long due to the demand for such an outstanding product!

Wow, comes with built in white LED torch. Just what I want - not (reminds me, need to change the batteries in my real torch Smile )

Their own pictures proves the lie - battery is 8800mAh.

Let's see how many idiots buy one and then get badly disappointed
I can understand the need to advertise a 6 months warranty, but I suspect that it could be a typo and it should be 6 minutes.

They can't import and/or sell these types of radios in so many countries now that they are using Australia as a dumping ground to recoup design and production costs.

Thinking about it, I might order two - one for each hand. Any other takers ??

Wanna green one, leave it out in the sun a few days Smile
I am very impressed by this one too: https://www.ebay.com/itm/233852257935?ha...SwrZBh73NA

5 V, 2 kAh and just 280 g -> 36 kWh/kg.

This is one hell of energy density.

In this https://interestingengineering.com/silic...gy-density: Amprius Technologies is being called the "leading provider of the highest energy density cells available."  -> 450 Wh/kg. I guess Amprius Technologies is not that leading ;-)
Looks very much like a BAOFENG UV-5RE. 5 Watts. 7.4 Volt. 1800mAh battery. 136 - 174 Mhz plus 400 - 480 Mhz, FM
It costs a lot to do "badge engineering".....

It's a UV-10R.
There's a few of these on eBay, unfortunately there is no way to report them for out and out lies!
