Hi all,

Later this year there will be a 6m EME DX'pedition to VK9C (Cocos Keeling) and VK9X (Christmas Isl)
during September and October. The web site below gives you more info.

Good DX to all.
What about an EME expedition to, somewhere we can drive to?
Most of us city dwellers have such high noise levels, 6m is a no-go.
Also with small blocks, (650sqm here) there is no space for more than one 6m beam.

eg. Hay NSW. 1 day drive from Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.

My 2c.

Thanks Rob

I am pretty sure Hay isn't a DXCC entity...

But by all means get your gear together and head to Hay on a DX'pedition, no-one is going to stop you...
Comments like this I don't need:
>But by all means get your gear together.....

A DXCC I don't need but I'd love to do EME on any band. And, on a budget.

So, can I ask, is there any interest is a team to go somewhere one can drive to?

Here in the 'burbs, noise and trees, well it's not possible.

For those where time has slipped by, Lance (W7GJ) is now QRV as vk9cgj and has had 28 contacts on his first day of operation, if you have been procrastinating, it is time NOW to get the gear warmed up.

I wasn't here Sunday but I left WSJT-X running with my 4el beam pointed
in the right direction and this:
Mode JT65A on 50.190 MHz

1953 -28 1.5 711 # 73

Alan VK2ZIW
Heard whils't at Men's Shed:50.190MHz
UTC db DF Freq message

0058 -29 1.5 915 # 73

0251 -28 1.5 902 # RRR

========= 26/9/17 =======

I Txed many times with my 4el and 80W over the last week
JT65A, 50.190MHz, 900Hz

Obviously inadequate...
VK5PJ, what equipment do you run?

For those sitting on the fence thinking about working Lance (W7GJ) your time is nearly up for VK9C (cocos Is) as the degradation level is on the up making a contact very hard for smaller stations.

If looking for Lance from VK9X (Christmas Is) his advice is to get in early as the same cycle of getting poorer over time will repeat.  For most 6mx ops this is probably the last chance for these two DXCC entities for a long time even it others go there, the F2 and Es is not likely to get you over the line.

So far I am the only one in his log from VK which I find odd considering the number of well equipped VK's on 50MHz.
